The most requested swap on new bikes
here is "Can you
replace that with a Thomson?" More $6,000 crazy carbon bikes
that we
sell end up leaving with a Thomson seatpost than any other brand. The
clamp is
indisputably the nicest available, and the weight is comparable with
the
lightest carbon posts money can buy. If you are racing mtb or 'cross
and can't
be worrying about whether or not your saddle is going to move when you
hop back
on, then you need the peace of mind you'll get with a Thomson.
Thomson's are also
significantly easier on your saddles. They feature a 1.6 inch long
contact
point vs. most brands ~.5 inch which helps to prevent any bending of
the rails
upon impact. Speaking of impact, Thomson's are made to bend, not break
in a
crash scenario so as long as you're able to ride, your seatpost will be
too.
Don't just take our word for it though, check out the Thomson
website, they have a wealth of knowledge and testing that is certainly
worth looking into, and for weights and sizes offered (we can get any
size they make, so if you need something we don't have listed, just
shoot us an email) check
out their spec page.
