Pedal body castings have slight inherent differences; when assembling your RX-1 / Custom Nuevo spindles, MKS inserts specific outer bearing shims/washers to ensure smooth spindle operation. When you replace your spindles, you will have to perform this task yourself.

It isn't that big of a deal, you will know whether you need thicker or thinner shims/washers by how smooth the spindle rotates. If it is tight - thinner / If there is side to side slop/play in the spindle - thicker.

Washers come in two thicknesses - .02mm and .04mm.

Which shims are in your pedals? Without a micrometer, there is no way to tell. Could be any thickness. May be different per pair, may be the same per pair.

Which do you buy then? Since these aren't at your local shop, save yourself some time and buy a couple of each. If you happen to have access to a micrometer and are able to measure your current shims. Have at least two of each size available. If you have one .04 and one .02 then buy one more of each size - If you have two .02's, then buy two .04's....etc.,etc.
